As a boy I could be found with my dad under his 1956 Vauxhall Cresta; my mum would see both sets of legs poking out from underneath it. I was probably aged about five then so it seems that cars have been a passion most of my life since.
I then studied motor mechanics when I left school at DeHavilland college in Welwyn Garden City and eventually gained my full City and Guilds Technological Certificate for both passenger cars and commercial vehicles; after this I went on to study management with the Institute of the Motor Industry. I worked with the post office maintenance team repairing the fleet in Hertfordshire until at the tender age of 26 I left to take up teaching mechanics and electronics at Southgate College.
This marked a significant change in my career and I worked in teaching and college management for the next twenty five years. During this time I studied and was awarded a Masters Degree in Automotive Management and Technology with the University of Hertfordshire.
I decided to return to my roots and set up my own classic car business having owned and loved a Ford Cortina 1600e for the last four years; enjoying the experience of being back working and dealing with cars again.
I’m a planner and logical in approach, I have a passion for getting things right.
